I wake up instantly. Today is that day. I don’t know how to act. Should I stay in bed? I can hear my stomach rumbling. Okay time for breakfast.

10:00
I am starting to lose my mind a little. I expect a call early in the afternoon. All I need to do now is calm down and relax a bit.

11:45
Mom asks me if I want to go with her. Check out some shops and buy dinner after that. I’ll go with her. Get my mind off things.

12:40
Time to leave the house. A bit scared. What if I get the call at home and I won’t be here? Okay, relax, they also have my cell number.

12:42
WHERE IS MY PHONE? Did I leave it at home? Is it is somewhere in my bag? Is the sound on? Is it loud enough? Oh damn, it was just in my hand 2 seconds ago. FOUND IT! It was in my pocket…

13:07
All my classmates are texting me. I am the first one on the list to be called. All they do is asking if I already got the call. It makes me more nervous. What if I didn’t make it. I want to shut off my phone. But we all know I can’t do that. I check one more time if the sound is on. Yep, volume at his highest.

13:35
Wow, time really flies when you go shopping. I am really relaxed right now

13:36
Time to fit these pieces!

13:42
MY PHONE IS RINGING. I can hear the Beyoncé ringtone coming out of my pocket, of the jacket in the dressing room. I run as fast as I can back to my jacket. I pick up ‘Hello, Joy speaking.’ My voice is shaking a little bit. It must be the nerves. And then I hear the words, the words I’ve been waiting for. ‘Congratulations Joy. You graduated. There was absolutely nothing wrong, you did it all perfectly.’

13:43
I cannot contain my happiness. I have the biggest smile ever on my face. I just f*ing graduated. Mom walks over and strokes my face. A stroke filled with love, joy, proudness and happiness only a mother could do.

17:00
Back home, I am in the garden enjoying the sun. I still have this big ass smile on my face. My grams is at the door, she hugs me and I can really feel the love because she hugs me slightly tighter then normal, and a little longer then normal.

18:10
When the front door opens Buddha runs to it. My step dad is home. I though I had a big smile on my face, his is even bigger. With his length and his long arms, I just vanish in his hug. Soft and warm.

My day was absolutely nerve wrecking. I also slept like a baby. I am just so happy I made it. I am no longer studying photography. I am a photographer.
