Right in the middle of our vacation we went to Saona. Gosh, if you already saw my first post and thought that was paradise… This island is even prettier. The ocean was a little bit more clear and a little bit more blue. There was a first drinking round at 11. The Dominican really waste no opportunity to drink.

Later we went snorkeling. Funny story. I don’t know how to snorkel. The only thing going into my lungs is salty water, because I forget how long the tube is. And because my vision is limited, I get scared. It was a disaster haha. Roy laughed at me for a long time! But I did see some fish!

We also saw some of the Island. They don’t have electricity. They only have engines, but they barely need them. My mind was a bit shocked by how these people live. There was this super cute kid, who came to Roy and I, and he started sharing his popcorn with us. We even gave some popcorn to a dog. It was just so cute.

We had lobster for lunch. I had one, Roy ate 4(!) lobsters. Later for dinner he had two more. Don’t worry, he is getting the help he needs now. During lunch we met a few people our age. We decided to all hang together and wait by the beach.

There was one more stop for the day. By speedboat we got to a natural pool. In the middle of the ocean, the sand was higher. So you could stand. We were not alone, there were sea stars all over the place! Don’t forget we were still in Dominicana, so of course there was a lot of rum. By the time we went back to our hotels we (us plus the new friends we made) were totally drunk.

The plan was to meet after dinner. Let me tell you this, it was a miracle Roy and I even made it to dinner. After that we both went knock out.

So to sum op our day: Beautiful beaches and ocean, amazingly kind people, lots of lobster and even more rum.

Prachtige foto’s. Ik krijg gelijk zin om ook in het vliegtuig te stappen voor een mooie zonvakantie.
